Pepper Chicken Masala

Pepper chicken masala

Ingredients:-

  1. Chicken – a small, 900 grams
  2. Onion – 1 big
  3. Ginger – 2 medium pieces
  4. Garlic cloves – 6 big
  5. Red chilly powder – 1 tsp.
  6. Coriander powder – 1 tsp.
  7. Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp.
  8. Peppercorns – 1 tbsp.
  9. Cardamom – 2 no.s
  10. Cinnamon – a 1″ piece
  11. Cloves – 5 no.s
  12. Curry leaf – 2 sprigs
  13. Coarsely ground pepper powder – 1 tbsp.
  14. Tomato – 2 medium, pureed
  15. Coconut oil – 2 tbsp.

Method:-

  1. Make a smooth paste of the onion, ginger, garlic cloves, red chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, peppercorns and salt.Marinate chicken pieces with this masala for 1 hour.
  2. Cook the chicken for 20 minutes / till the chicken is 3/4th done and the water from the chicken completely evaporates.
  3. Heat coconut oil.Add 2 cardamom, 5 cloves and 1″ piece cinnamon. Add the curry leaves and the coarse pepper powder.
  4. When u get an aroma of the spices add the pureed tomatoes and stir fry till oil seperates.
  5. Add the cooked chicken pieces and stir fry till well browned for 30 minutes on a medium-low heat.
  6. Add the chopped cilantro, mix well and remove from heat.
