Rava Kesari / Rava Halwa / Sheera

Ingredients:-

  1. Bombay Rava – 1 cup
  2. Ghee – 1 cup
  3. Sugar – 11/2 cups / to taste
  4. Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
  5. Kesari color – a pinch dissolved in water
  6. saffron – a pinch
  7. Boiling water – 3 cups
  8. Cashews as needed
  9. Raisins as needed

Method:-

  1. Heat the ghee in a thick bottomed vessel. Add the rava & fry till golden brown for 7 minutes.
  2. Add 3 cups of boiling water to the rava & mix. Cover the wok & cook the rava on low heat for 10 minutes.
  3. Add sugar, kesari color & cardamom powder. Mix well for 5 minutes / till it reaches the Halwa stage.
  4. Transfer to a square/ rectangular pan. Garnish with toasted cashews & raisins.
  5. Let cool completely. Cut into desired shapes & serve.
