I got this recipe from here, tried it out & it was delicious.
Ricotta cheese – 2 packs / 2 cups
Sugar – 9 tbsp + 2 tbsp
Milk – 2 cups
Powdered cardamom – 1/4 tsp
Saffron strands – a few
Sliced almonds – 2 tbsp
Sliced pistachios – 2 tbsp
Preheat the oven to 180C.
Combine the cheese & 9 tbsp of sugar in a medium mixing bowl; beat well with an electric mixer till you feel no grains of sugar. Transfer mixture to a greased square baking tin & bake at 180C for 40- 45 minutes/ till a knife inserted into the center of the cheese comes out clean.
Let it cool slighly. Cut into squares/ desired shapes. Boil 2 cups of milk, cook on low heat till it reduces to 1 cup. Add 2 tbsp of sugar. Add the powdered cardamom & the saffron strands; remove from heat.
Let the milk cool slightly, pour it over the ricotta pieces. Add the sliced nuts & mix. Refrigerate till you serve.
