This is an easy to make rice & is very flavourful.
Cooked basmathi rice – 4 cups
Cabbage – 11/2 cups ( chopped long & thin)
Cooked Greenpeas – 2 tbsp ( optional)
Onion – 1 medium, chopped finely
Oil – 4 tbsp
Cilantro – 1/4 cup
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Dry red chilly – 2 numbers
Curry leaf – 2 sprigs
For the masala:-
Greenchilly – 2 numbers
Ginger – 1″ piece
Mint leaves – 20 numbers
Cilantro stems – 2 tbsp
Cinnamon – 1″ piece
Cloves – 4 numbers
Grated coconut – 1 cup
Pottukadala – 2 tbsp
Grind these ingredients with very less water to a thick coarse paste.
Heat 3 tbsps of oil & saute the onion & cabbage till lightly browned. Keep aside.
To the same oil add the cumin seeds, dry red chilly & curry leaves. Add the ground masala paste & fry on low heat till the raw taste of the masala goes.
Add the cooked rice & peas; mix well. Finally add the sauted onion, cabbage & chopped cilantro. Mix well & remove from heat.
