Finely shredded cabbage – 3 cups
Grated carrot – 1/2 cup
Green chillies – 2-3 numbers, chopped
Grated coconut – 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp(heaped)
Jeera powder – 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves – a sprig
Salt – 1-11/4 tsp
Oil – as needed
Heat 11/2 tbsp oil. Splutter mustard seeds & add the greenchillies, curry leaves and shallots. When translucent add the turmeric powder and fry till raw smell goes.
Add the shredded cabbage, grated carrot and salt. Fry for a minute on high heat.
Cover and cook for 10 – 15 minutes/ till done on medium heat, stirring occasionally. Now remove the lid of the wok, add grated coconut and cumin powder. Stir fry for a minute on high heat.Swithch off the stove.
Keep it uncovered for some time to prevent the accumulation of moisture.
