Whole Wheat flour – 11/2 cup
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Baking powder – 1.5 tsp
Dates – 25 numbers, seeded
Milk – 11/2 cups + 1/2 cup
Egg – 1, large
Sugar – 1/4 – 1/2 cup
Vanilla essence – 1/4 tsp
Soak the seeded dates in 1/2 cup of lukewarm milk for 1 hour. Grind to a very smooth paste & keep side.
Sift together the flour, baking powder & salt; keep aside.
Beat the egg well till frothy. Add sugar, essence & beat again. Now add the remaining 11/2 cups of milk & whisk till combined. Add the dates paste & fold in the sifted flour mixture to make the pancake batter.
Heat a griddle, when it becomes very hot pour a small ladleful of batter & cook both sides of the pancake on a very low heat till browned.
