Soak 11/2 cups of soy chunks in hot water for 2 hours. Squeeze water from them & cut each chunk lengthwise into 4 pieces.
Heat 2 tbsp of canola oil & saute 1 tsp each of finely chopped ginger & garlic. Saute till you get an aroma & add 2 medium onions (cubed) & 2 slit greenchillies. Fry till the onion turns translucent. Add the chunks & 1/2 a green bell pepper cubed; fry for 5 minutes. Lower the heat & add 2 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 tbsp of chilly garlic sauce & 11/2 tbsp of tomato ketchup. Mix well & add 11/2 cups of water; bring to a boil & add 1 tsp of pepper powder & enough salt. Cover cook on low heat for 20 minutes/ till all water has evaporated. Add 1/4 tsp of sugar & 1 tsp of vinegar & mix well.
Serve with friedrice/ Roti.
