Mushroom Perelan


For 400 grams of button mushroom sliced,

Cook the sliced mushrooms adding 3/4 tsp of kashmiri chilly powder, 11/2 tsp of coriander powder, 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, 3/4 tsp of pepper powder, salt & 1/2 tsp of garam masla powder in 1/4 cup of thick coconut milk. Cook on medium heat till the water completely evaporates.

Heat 11/2 tbsps of oil in a wok & splutter 1/4 tsp of mustard seeds, add 2 dry red chillies & 3 sprigs of curry leaves. Add 11/2 tbsp of finely chopped ginger & 2 medium onions ( finely chopped); saute till onions turn golden brown. Add the cooked mushroom pieces along with the masala & cook till the mushrooms are thoroughly coated with the masala.

Serve hot with Roti/ Rice/ even Gruel!
