Bread Tarts with Sweet Corn filling

Ingredients :-

Bread – 10 slices

Butter – 2 tbsp

Plain flour – 2 tbsp

Milk -3/4 cup

Sweet corn – 1 cup

Pepper powder – 1 tsp

Salt as needed


Preheat the oven to 160C.

Flatten the bread slices using your rolling pin to seal the holes in them & cut out a circle from each bread slice with a cookie cutter/ bottle lid. Apply melted butter on both sides of the circles & place them in tart moulds, gently press the bread slices against the eges of the tart mould so that they take the shape of a cup. Bake them at 160C for 5 -10 minutes/ till crisp & golden brown. Let the baked bread tarts cool down to room temperature.

Heat butter in a sauce pan, add the flour & fry on low heat till the raw smell disappears. Lower heat & add the milk, keep mixing till the sauce thickens. Add the sweet corn, pepper powder & salt. Mix well & remove from heat.

Fill each bread cup with this sweet corn filling & bake for 5 more minutes at 160C.  These tarts are delicious.
