Easy Red Apple Payasam

  1. Heat 50 grams of butter & add 2 cups of finely chopped red apple (seeds & peel removed) before the butter burns . Saute for 7 minutes/ till the apple turns soft.
  2. Add 1/2 cup of cooked sago ( just cook the sago in your pressure cooker . Simmer for 18 minutes after the first whistle. Add plenty of cold water & drain out the water from the cooked sago pearls.) and a litre of low fat milk.
  3. Cook till the payasam thickens & the apple pieces are cooked through. Add 1tin of sweetened condensed milk, mix well & cook for 2 more minutes.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Serve hot/ at room temperature. You do not need to add powdered cardamom to this payasam.

Note :- Please do not use any tart apples like Granny Smith to make this payasam
