Raagi dessert kurukku

  1. Soak 1/2 cup of ragi in water for 5-6 hours. Grind to a smooth paste adding water & strain through a fine sieve. Mix with 4 cups of water & cook on medium low heat for 10-15 minutes or till thick.
  2. Add 1.5 cups of grated jaggery & cook for 20 minutes. Add 1/4 cup of sugar & mix for 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in 1 cup of thick coconut milk & 1/2 tsp of powdered cardamom. Bring to a slow boil & remove from heat.
  4. In another pan, heat 1/2 tbsp of ghee & fry 1 cup of grated coconut till it turns golden brown. Pour this over the kurukku.
