Avalose Podi

  1. Soak 2 cups of pachari or white rice in water overnight. Drain out all the water from the rice & spread the rice on a paper towel till dry for 30 minutes.
  2. Powder the rice in your coffee grinder little bit coarsely. You should have 4 cups of ground rice flour.
  3. Add 2 cups of grated coconut, 3/4 (level) tsp. of cumin seeds & 3/4 tsp of salt to the rice flour & mix thoroughly with hands. Keep aside for 1 hour.
  4. Transfer this mixture to an uruli & cook for 30-35 minutes, stirring coninuosly till light golden brown in colour.
  5. Let cool & enjoy with banana & sugar.
