Special potato & curryleaf bread squares


  1. Bread slices – as needed
  2. Boiled & mashed potato – 1 cup
  3. Onion – 1 small, finely chopped
  4. Curryleaves – 2 tbsps, torn with hand preferably or minced with knife
  5. Tomato – half of a medium tomato ( deseeded & chopped)
  6. Semolina – 2 level tbsps.
  7. Greenchillies – 2 numbers, finely chopped
  8. Salt – to taste
  9. Mustard seeds – as needed
  10. Oil – 2 tbsps


  1. Toast the bread slices on both the sides.
  2. Mix together the potato, onion, tomato, curryleaves, semolina, salt & greenchillies.
  3. Spread the potato mixture on one side of each toasted bread slice. Sprinkle some mustard seeds on top of the mixture & press lightly.
  4. Heat 2 tbsps of oil in a frying pan & place the bread slices with the potato topping facing down. Shallow fry till browned.
  5. Serve immediately with tea/coffee.
