Oats Butter cookies



  1. Plain flour – 1/2 cup
  2. Quick cooking oats– 1 cup
  3. Salt – 1/2 tsp.
  4. Butter– 100 grams, softened
  5. Caster sugar – 1/4 cup
  6. Vanilla essence – 1/2 tsp.
  7. Powdered cinnamon – 1/4 tsp.


  1. Preheat the oven to 180C.
  2. Beat together the butter and caster sugar till creamy & light.
  3. Beat in salt, cinnamon powder & vanilla essence.
  4. Fold in the flour & the oats. Do not knead the dough. Refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough into a circle of 1/4″ thickness with the help of a rolling pin.
  6. Cut out circles using a cookie cutter & place them on a baking tray lined with foil.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes or till golden brown in colour. These cookies will be crsipy and will have the taste of butter.
