Magic chocolate custard cake with wheat flour



  1. Eggs – 4 numbers, large
  2. Caster sugar – 1 cup
  3. Salt – a pinch
  4. Butter – 100 grams, melted
  5. Vanilla essence – 1.5 tsps.
  6. Whole milk – 2 cups
  7. Corn flour – 2 heaping tbsps.
  8. Wheat flour – 1/3 cup
  9. Plain flour – 1/2 cup
  10. Unsweetened cocoa powder – 1/4 cup
  11. White vinegar – 1/2 tsp.


  1. Preheat the oven to 170C.
  2. Seperate the yolks and whites of all the four eggs.
  3. Sift together the plain flour, wheat flour, cornflour & cocoa powder.
  4. Beat together the four egg yolks for 5 minutes. Add the caster sugar gradually & beat for 10 minutes till the mixture turns creamy & pale. The mixture will start to fall down from the mixer blades in the form of ribbons.
  5. Beat in the melted butter, vanilla essence, salt and the sifted flour mixture.
  6. Fold in the 2 cups of whole milk.
  7. Beat together the 4 egg whites adding vinegar till they form stiff peaks.
  8. Fold in the beaten whites into the cake batter. The batter would be really watery.
  9. Transfer the batter to the prepared cake tin.
  10. Bake at 170C for 50 minutes.
  11. Allow to cool for 30 minutes.
  12. Cut into smaller pieces & serve.
