Oats coated chicken nuggets

Ingredients:-

Chicken – 250 grams, boneless breasts, cut into 1″ cubes

For marinating the chicken:-

  1. Pepper powder – 1/4 tbsp.
  2. Red chilly powder – 1/4 heaping tbsp.
  3. Salt – 1 tsp.
  4. Pepper powder – 1/4 tbsp.
  5. Sweet paprika powder – 1/4 tbsp.
  6. White vinegar – 1/4 tsp.
  7. Garlic – 3 big cloves (pasted)
  8. Ginger – 1/2 tsp. (pasted)

For coating the chicken:-

For the Dry mixture

  1. Cornflour – 2 heaping tbsps.
  2. Plain flour – 1/4 cup
  3. Salt – 1/2 tsp.
  4. Garam masala powder– 1/2 tsp.
  5. Dry onion powder – 1/2 tsp.

For the wet mixture:-

  1. Egg – 1 number, large
  2. Milk – 1/4 cup
  3. Salt – a pinch

For the final coating:-

  1. Quick cooking oats – 11/4 cup
  2. Salt – 1/4 tsp.

Method:-

  1. Marinate the chicken cubes with salt, vinegar, ginger-garlic paste, paprika powder, red chilly powder & pepper powder for 1 hour in your refrigerator.
  2. Mix together the cornflour, plain flour, salt, onion powder & garam masala powder powder in a bowl.
  3. In a seperate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk & salt.
  4. Take a marinated piece of chicken & coat it really well with the dry flour mixture. Flatten the chicken piece slightly with your hand. Keep the prepared chicken pieces aside for 1 hour.
  5.  Dip each flour coated chicken piece into the egg-milk mixture & roll in oats.
  6. Repeat with the other pieces of chicken.
  7. Heat oil for deep frying the prepared chicken pieces. Deep fry the chicken pieces over a medium heat till golden brown in colour and crisp. Drain on paper towels.
