Fried Banana cookies



  1. Banana – 1 medium, ripe ( I used Dole)
  2. Egg – half of a medium, beaten
  3. Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp.
  4. Powdered sugar – 1 cup
  5. Salt – 3/4 tsp.
  6. Vanilla essence – 1/2 tsp.
  7. Plain flour – 2 cups
  8. Semolina – 1 cup
  9. Ghee – 2 tbsps
  10. Oil as needed for deep frying the biscuits


  1. Mash the banana well using a fork.
  2. Mix together the mashed banana, beaten egg, vanilla essence, cardamom powder, salt, powdered sugar and mix well.
  3. Mix the semolina with the plain flour.
  4. Add ghee to the semolina -plain flour mixture & mix till crumbly.
  5. Add to the combined wet ingredients to make a soft dough.
  6. Divide the dough into 2 portions.
  7. Roll out each portion into a circle of 1/4″ thickness & cut out cookies of desired shapes using a cookie cutter.
  8. Heat oil for frying the cookies.
  9. Fry the cookies on medium low heat till golden brown in colour & crisp.
  10. Drain on paper towels.
