Chocolate fudge cake with hung curd


This cake is super moist, soft, chocolatey and has a fudge like texture.


  1. All purpose flour – 1.25 cups
  2. Baking powder – 1.25 tsp
  3. Salt –  a pinch
  4. Brown sugar – 1 cup
  5. Vanilla essence – 1 tsp.
  6. Butter – 150 grams (softened)
  7. Dark Chocolate – 115 grams (melted)
  8. Eggs – 3, medium
  9. Hung curd – 2/3 cup


  1. Preheat the oven to 180C.
  2. Grease a 8″ cake tin & keep aside.
  3. Sift together the flour, salt & baking powder 3 times. This removes any lumps & also aerates the flour. Keep aside.
  4. Beat together the eggs, hung curd, vanilla essence, melted dark chocolate, softened butter & brown sugar at low speed in your mixer/blender.
  5. Fold in the sifted dry flour mixture.
  6. Pour the cake batter into the greased tin & bake at 180C for 35 minutes and at 160C for 15 minutes.
