No bake Vanilla Custard pudding



  1. Whole milk – 2 cups + 1/2 cup; divided
  2. Sugar – 7-8 heaping tbsps.
  3. Salt – a pinch
  4. Custard powder – 2 heaping tbsps.
  5. Vanilla essence – 2 tsps.
  6. Fresh cream/ Heavy whipping cream – 1 cup
  7. Gelatin – 1 tbsp.
  8. Cold water – 1/4 cup


  1. Soak gelatin in 1/4 cup of cold water for 15 minutes.
  2. Mix the custard powder in 1/2 cup of cold milk & keep it aside.
  3. Combine the remaining 2 cups of milk sugar in a medium saucepan & bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Lower heat  add the custard-milk mixture. Cook on medium low heat till the mixture thickens. Remove the custard from heat and strain it to remove any lumps.
  4. Melt gelatin by double boiling method and add it to the hot custard.
  5. Let the custard cool down completely to room temperature.
  6. Add the vanilla essence, salt & fresh cream & mix well.
  7. Transfer the custard to a puddig dish & refrigerate till set.
  8. Serve chilled.
