Warm Almond cake with nutella sauce

Ingredients:-

For the cake batter:-

  1. Plain flour – 1.25 cups
  2. Cinnamon powder – 2 tsps.
  3. Baking soda – 1 tsp.
  4. Salt – 1/4 tsp.
  5. Butter – 125 grams
  6. Brown sugar – 1.5 cups (tightly packed)
  7. Eggs – 3 numbers, medium
  8. Vanilla essence – 1 tsp.
  9. Sour cream – 1 cup
  10. Almonds – 3/4 cup; coarsely chopped in your food processor

For the nutella sauce:-

  1. Nutella – 1/2 cup
  2. Heavy cream – 1.5 cup/300ml.

Method:-

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C.
  2. Sift together the plain flour, salt, baking soda & cinnamon powder.
  3. Beat together the butter & brown sugar till creamy and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the 3 eggs, one by one & beat well after each addition.
  5. Beat in the vanilla essence. Fold in the sifted flour mixture alternated with the sour cream. Finally add the coarsely chopped almonds & mix.
  6. Pour the batter into a prepared cake tin.
  7. Bake at 180C for 40-45 minutes.
  8. Serve warm with the nutella sauce. For the sauce, combine the cream & nutella & cook on low heat till well combined.
