Chicken Pizza Buns


This recipe will make 6 pizza buns.


  1. Buns –  3 numbers
  2. Butter as needed
  3. Mayonnaise – 1/4 cup
  4. Sweet chilly sauce – 1 tbsp.
  5. Green capsicum – 1/4 cup; chopped
  6. Onion – 1 medium; thinly sliced
  7. Olives – 2 tbsps; thinly sliced
  8. Mozzarella cheese – 100 grams, grated ( I used Monte Cristo Brand)
  9. Oregano – as required

For the chicken keema masala :-

  1. Sunflower oil – 2 tbsps.
  2. Chicken mince – 250 grams
  3. Onion – 1 cup, finely chopped
  4. Greenchilly -1 number, finely chopped
  5. Ginger garlic paste – 1 heaping tsp.
  6. Coriander powder – 1  tsp.
  7. Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp.
  8. Pepper powder – 1/4 tsp.
  9. Red Chilly powder – 1/2 tsp.
  10. Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp.
  11. Tomato – 3/4 cup (chopped and pureed in the blender)
  12. Garam masala powder – 1/4 tsp.
  13. Cilantro – 1/4 cup; finely chopped
  14. Salt as needed


  1. To prepare the chicken keema masala, heat 2 tbsps. of oil in a broad non-stick pan.
  2. Stir in the ginger garlic paste and cook for a few minutes. Now add the finely chopped onion and the slit greenchilly. Saute’ till the onion turns golden brown in colour.
  3. Add all the masala powders except garam masala powder and stir fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the fresh tomato puree and fry till oil separates.
  5. Stir in the chicken keema and salt. Cook till done. Add the garam masala powder and cilantro and mix. Let this mixture cool down to room temperature.
  6. Preheat the oven to 200C.
  7. Mix together the mayonnaise and chilly sauce and keep aside.
  8. Cut each bun into half horizontally and apply butter on the bun halves. Toast them till golden brown and crisp. Arrange the toasted bun halves (with the toasted side facing up)  on a baking tray lined with foil.
  9. Apply the mayo-chilly sauce mixture on the bun halves. Place the chicken keema masala over the mayo sauce. Sprinkle olives, sliced onions and capsicum over the chicken. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and oregano.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven at 200C for 7-10 minutes.
