Nutella, walnut and chocolate chips squares



  1. Plain flour – 1.25 cups
  2. Salt – a pinch
  3. Butter – 100 grams, softened
  4. Powdered sugar – 1 cup
  5. Eggs – 3 numbers, medium
  6. Vanilla essence – 1 tsp.
  7. Nutella – 1/2 cup
  8. Walnuts – 1/2 cup; coarsely chopped
  9. Dark chocolate chunks – 1/2 cup ( I used Lindt 60%)


  1. Preheat the oven to 180C.
  2. Sift together the plain flour and salt.
  3. Beat together the butter & powdered sugar till creamy for about 10 minutes.
  4. Beat in the 3 eggs one by one & beat well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla essence.
  5. Add the Nutella and beat again.
  6. Fold in the sifted flour mixture, walnuts and chocolate chunks.
  7. Pour the batter into a  prepared 8×8″ brownie pan.
  8. Bake at 180C for 25-30 minutes. Do not over bake.
  9. Let cool down completely to room temperature before cutting into squares.
