Savoury semolina pops

Ingredients:-

  1. Semolina – 1 cup
  2. Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp.
  3. Curry leaves – a few
  4. Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp.
  5. Kashmiri chilly powder – 1/4 tsp.
  6. Hing – 1/4 tsp.
  7. Fenugreek powder – 1/2 tsp.
  8. Salt – 1/2 tsp.
  9. Sugar – 2 tbsps.
  10. Greenchilly – 3 numbers (pasted)
  11. Ginger – 1/2″ piece; pasted
  12. Baking soda – 1/4 tsp.
  13. Thick curd – 2 tbsps.
  14. Water – 3 tbsps.
  15. Oil – 2 tbsps.+ to deep-fry

Method:-

  1. Heat 2 tbsps. of oil and add the mustard seeds. Allow the seeds to pop. Add the curry leaves and fry. Add this to the semolina and mix well. Add all the ingredients from 4 to 14 to the semolina and mix. Keep aside for 3-4 hours. Make small lime sized balls from the mixture.
  2. Heat oil for deep-frying the balls. fry the balls on medium heat till brown in colour. Drain on paper towels.
